horn insert go in the flaps and if so do you grind of the part of the long
insert that sticks of the top of the aileron?

Yes, the short control horn is used for the flaps. The long insert and horn
are used for the ailerons. I drilled the hole so that the aileron horn
ended up perpendicular to the TOP of the aileron. That puts the aileron
horn closer to the hinge line where it should be. Drill so that the horn
