Ed, I don't think its a shameless plug at all. The Davis is a great tool I have a Davis plane and use it quite often. There are areas where I use it. Its simply not as comfortable in my hand (I do a lot of regular woodworking) And I hone my Stanley sharper than the razor blades on the Davis wh
