Try a Super Ava, great for Res and Unlimited TD and very visable, read large 
and less $ than an all up TD ship by around 1/2.

The Supra is a better plane if you're going to demand some degree of performance (usually not required for Calif AMA TD) and it comes at a price. If it were me, I'd seriously take a look at the Shadow. I'm not going to get into the details, but Tom Copp at Composite Specialties will tell you more about it.
