For those attending the Visalia event this weekend, I would appreciate a "first impression" on the new NYX glider that will be there (F3X.com). Not so much the flying side of things, but the construction.
Give the air frame a stiffness test (twist/bend)... particularly the fuselage. It would be good to use a "bench mark" next to it like the Cobra. I realise there is a difference between stiffness and strength, so I wont ask for a strength test {:-).
With reports of the "big buck" aircraft failing mid-flight, one must ask if the weight (construction) is getting too light for the loads placed on the air frame. With the exchange rates, current quality aircraft are well in excess of AUS$2000 and the Nyx looks like it may be a good alternative.
