Mark,
I used DEFT as well on my Velvia. I purchased it at the local Lowes home
improvement store. Would you mind posting a flight report on the Hyper DL, I
have my eye on that particular plane, and I'm wondering if it will hold up
to discuss launching.

All,
I'm enjoying the discussion about contest participation, it must be that
time of year again. I took a year off of glider competition to get into
pattern flying (yeah I know). I'm also a member of a pattern discussion list
like this soaring list.
This very same discussion occured on the
CR Fun 1 for sale. Airframe only. White fuse, wing top, and Horizontal stab
top. Purple wing and horizontal stab bottom. Red fin and canopy. Set up for
rudder control. The fuse has been broken in the normal Fun-1 spot (under
wing), and has been repaired. The plane is in good shape. I can e-mail
There has been several posts on how flying sailplanes can help you become a
better pilot. I couldn't agree more.
However if you want to become one of the elite pilots you MUST learn to use
the rudder (on full house ships of course). Uncouple the aileron mix and go

Thank you for your comments. I have some good ideas now, and I will be
saving my $$ for a new ship for next season.

My ship is fully operational after the rudderectomy you performed. Are you
going to be out tomorrow, so I can exact my revenge?

FOUR WEEKS HAHAHAHAHA, I have been waiting about 2 months for my Fun 1. I
knew there would be a long wait going in though. Just don't get your hopes
up, and be patient.

Silas,
Off topic, but I helped build a concrete canoe in college also for an ASCE
conference, It looked like something from the Flintstones, but it proudly
bore the name "Ridgid Member" on the bow

I have the perfect Thermal Imaging device, and have been using it
successfully for the last 7 months. It is called a CR Climmax Pro. I throw
it out and if it circles up, I have just detected rising air. If it circles
down I have detected sinking air.
You don't need Thermal Imaging, you need to
