"Not surprising. The 10% SD8020 is too thick for most glider tails. A slab airfoil is just plain bad. Both will surely have nonlinearities. A 5-6% thick airfoil with the max thickness point well forward at 20-25% chord is much better, since it is immune to most hysteresis effects.
