Walter---Us old FF ers also use bubble machines to show us the thermals.
Available at Toys R Us, and set on a pole upwind , they paint a beautiful
picture of the river of air.  When the bubbles are falling--dont fly.  When
they are going up--launch!!!But----let me remind you that no method is
foolproof.     Enjoy     Jim
