There is an old guy that flies down in the park and he is always getting
kids to fly his old built-up glider. I guess he has taught a hundred
kids and others to fly. He doesn't fly much because someone else always
has his old Futaba, he doesn't do precision landings but he most always

#1 for me - Lee Renaud. He may not have been the best pilot, not have
been the best flier, and may not have won the best contests...but he did
more for RC and soaring specifically than pretty much any single person in
my memory. I know that many who had the chance to meet him would

flier by the name of Norm? You honored him about 1991 or so with an award.
