Ankles, legs, and skin all are hurting, and I did not even tow, it has been 2 long days here at the IAC. Today, we had wind, launches dead on in to it and folks having to fly way out and in the soup to try to make the numbers. Someone told me that they alone saw 5K worth of sailplanes bite the big one and that does not include all the ships that are still laying out on and off the AMA property in the corn and soybeans fields. Pilots put all their talents on the line and Tom Kiesling came out the top dog today, he had a 399 out of 4000 possible in the finals. I do not know the rest of the placings but I am sure it will be posted here later and at the AMA website. Tomorrow, 2M is on tap and with it traditional TD starts. Forecast good and hot again, but is looking tough past that point, more wind and a chance of rain in the future.
