Jerry, et all;
Although, to a point, I agree with you, but remember at who and what the
Nats is really about...
A chance for Joe average to fly with and hopefully learn from some of the
countries best.
Yea in a way that sort hurts, but you get more people involved in soaring
that way.
Other wise, the Nats ends up like F3b, with only 10 contestants.
and not much of a contest to boot.

The Nats are aimed at Joe average, not Capn Jack, Jerry Shape or DP.

The Landings are the way they are so that the majority of the participants
has a chance to make a landing... You know who they are, the one year, two
year and in some cases 30 year pilots, (you know who I mean) who may not be
as adept at landing as you or some other people.

If the Nats were made, like you may and a few others suggest, there would
not be anyone there to compete with, except for the usual 5 to 10 people
that we have come to know and love.

Then the little guy, just could not "Kick some serious Asre"....

Besides launching at the Nats is a trick as well... is it not? 8-)

So, if you could, give me a break on the Nats stuff..we serve a greater
purpose.
