My son and I reached level 4 very quickly back in the early 80's when
everyone was working on LSF. Now it is more difficult to find two level
II,s to witness, than to get points or go to contests. There are many
more contests now than then, Then, in the ECSS, there were maybe 6 or 7

If anything it is easier now than when LSF started. I made many trips
around the NWSS circuit and excursions off to CA for a couple of LSF
Nat tournaments in the early to mid 70s just to get to level 4. My wife
and the dog and I treated the trips as mini vacations and usually camped
