Any ideas about an inexpensive > but elegant way to protect it? Paul: I use the cases from HP Printer toner cartridges, which (amazingly enough) also are sold as RC Transmitter cases at Tower, Hobby Lobby, Home Depot, etc. You may need to take a Dremel Tool and carve away some of the inner plastic liner to make a good fit. Next, get a batch of 1-inch thick soft cushion foam, and cut it with a electric kitchen knife or a sharp razor blade, to make holes for the sticks and to shape the fornt switches etc. place the foam around the radio and insert it into a large "ZIPLOC" bag or the plastic bag your Sunday paper came in (It does rain when you hike right?) Then into the plastic box. Finally, tie the box to your backpack, or throw it into your rucksack. To make it ELEGANT, get a LSF, or Soaring Society of America sticker and paste it on the top cover. But then, if you can afford a STYLUS in the first place, just have your butler or maid order a DELUXE AIRTRONICS TRANSMITTER CASE for $125. Zero Haliburton makes the most bulletproof case, of brushed aluminum, which already has the foam in it and is found at most all Camera and gun shops. from $75.
