Perhaps the one of the strongest arguments for getting a Profi 4000 is access to a few expert generated programs for popular planes. I just spent the past 2 hours messing with Daryl Perkins Psyco setup on my own Psyco. While I am not done yet, I have learned quite a bit about more advanced flying by having his setup on my own profi 4000. The process is amazingly painless and the problems are all centered around whether my hardware (plane, servos, horn locations, rx) is the same as his. So far: 4 flight modes, launch, unknown, speed and thermal as an option off of unknown. Almost no down elevator in most modes (15% travel). I guess he flys in sink mostly so no need to try to get down. He appears to be lazy like the rest of us and has assymetric rudder travel. Must mean that he was too lazy to recenter the control horn when he switched TX/RX. Either that or his rudder horn is pretty screwed up. I can't wait to try this program in the air. More as I figure it out. Initially I wondered whether the Profi 4k was too much for me, but the educational value of access to this program is well worth the extra bucks. Whether this resource can be duplicated on other radios is unknown to me. What was also helpful was looking at the printout of the program. Karlton should apply some of his 'charm' to get ahold of other Profi setups--it is a big help to us struggling learners. No connection to Multiplex/Karlton except as a customer who hopes his RX's will arrive soon. psyco program can be had at: http://www.multiplexrc.com/files/CIF_PSYCO.zip RCSE-List facilities provided by Model Airplane News.
