So I had a rare moment on Saturday to go down to the shop and work on models, I got down there and started cleaning stuff up and cycling battery packs... so I decided I wanted to finish a project instead of starting a new one.

I spotted one of my NIB 10 footer Hobie Hawks that needed just one half a stab to be covered... perfect. So I started hunting down that patch of transparent blue monokote that guy who sold me this Hawk had sent with it. As I am searching through boxes of Hobie Hawk stuff, guess what I find!?! A brand new original standard size Hobie Hawk that I forgot that I had snapped up off the net and stored away. I doubt anyone has opened that box in years, still smelled like new on the inside. 8-)

I did an admirable job with the monokote (I really prefer to work with ultracote) and the 20 year old stab, looks like new. I should take a picture, this is a pretty one, transparent blue flying surfaces, white fuse, light blue tint on the canopy.

Now my Hawk is finished for display, so I can proudly show it off like Capn' Jacks, (Jack has the only other 10 footer Hobie Hawk that I have ever seen)

Always fun to find a bit of history stashed away in the hangar... 8-)
