Check out your local Underwater Dive Shop. They have a rubber glue that is
used to glue Wet Suits when they get torn. Its strong and works good. They
may even glue it right there for you. Its worth a try.

Subject: [RCSE] Rubber Tire Repair

I have a 4.5" Glennis rim and solid rubber tire on a 6 meter DG which
has split (across the tread - from one bead to the other). Does anyone
have any recomendations for an adhesive that will allow an effective
repair? By effective, I mean if it splits again it will be somewhere
else. I'm thinking of GOOP, but in situations like this, it's a one-time
attempt.

The problems are:
- the tire will have to be stretched back over the rim AFTER the repair
- sitting on the rim, the gap averages 0.6" (which is huge - makes me
think this the durometer of this rubber is too hard for the amount
Glennis is expecting this stretched tire to remain intact - even without
centrifugal loading)
- I hate like hell to have to purchase a new tire for $30AMER
