Attention All Southern California Glider Pilots The 2005 flying season of the Silent Wings Soaring Association, SWSA, in Covina, California invites all glider pilots to enter our monthly competitions. The first contest will be held on Sunday, December 12, 2004. Sign up before 9:00 A.M. The contests begin as soon after 9:00 A.M. as possible. (We try to be very tolerant of late arrivals, particularly guests.) The entry fee is only $4.00. Yearly club membership is only $24.00. Periodic guests are eligible to earn the monthly medals. Only members are qualified to receive the Flyer of The Year trophies. Our contests are held on the second Sunday of each month at 9:00 A.M. Our flying field is located on the grounds of the Las Palmas Middle School, 641 N. Lark Ellen Avenue, Covina, CA 91722. The school is 200 yards north of the intersection of Lark Ellen Avenue and San Bernardino Road in the City of Covina. We try to have fun. Periodic guests such as Joe Wurts, Darrell Perkins and members Larry Jolly, Edgar Vera, John Erickson and Alex Eremenko make for some of the toughest competition to be found anywhere.
Special Notice to ISS Club Members Gene Hays advises that frequency 36 is off limits to all ISS members:):) "It's hard to be a turkey when you soar with the eagles."
