Last weekend I got to see a Soprano, the RES plane distributed by Isthmus
Models. It looks like an Ava, Danny or whatever, but as flown by Mark Nankivil,
it gobbled up the Avas in the OVSS competition; it seemed to float just as
well, and penetrated much better. It was not an RES day. The wind
After all the winches wound down Charles Eaton placed
third in RES with his Soprano. Congrats to Charles for
a great job.

Ok, so who's flying a Soprano out there? Let's hear some feedback! I
would like a big RES plane and am trying to decide between Soprano and
AVA.

Jim, you really need feedback from someone whom has logged time on both.
I have not. I did buy Mark Millers prototype Soprano. I only have
a few launches on it but understand why the rudder was increased on
current offerings. Since I have seen no better responses I offer the
following
The Soprano is a very clean and nice sounding. The AVA is more like a
movie star.

Anyone flown a Ava and a Soprano for comparisons?
My Ava is weighting in at 41oz. The rudder on the Ava is much bigger. I
did fly it in some wind, I can add up to 33oz to mine.

I haven't had my Soprano out yet but I have both ready to fly and
compare. But I have seen the Soprano fly and I could tell you a couple
things already. But I'll keep that to myself until I have some stick time
on the Soprano.
