Wood Crafters Reunion and Championship events work on a single entry per ch system with a team entry allowed on the same ch. This has proven to work very well, allowing everyone to fly at will during the two day Woody Reunion with the team entries managing their own ch. CD's take note, no impounding required.
The Championship, because of the single entry per ch, allows the contestants to choose how much flying ( classes) they want to participate in. The Championship competition classes are: 2M unl, 100" and under RES, 100" and over RES, Unl. A 2m can compete in all the classes and the 100" can compete in three classes. Some guys choose to fly the Thursday and Friday Reunion Fun Fly for the first two days of this four day event which has optional competition events and then pack it up and join the family for the Memorial Day weekend. Others will fly four days of Scale Aerotow, the hardest part of this is recovering from four days of constant grinning. Some guys will fly all the events, full cup. Some of the competition guys show up in time to get some stick time on Friday prior to the Saturday and Sunday Championship. We have manned winches with retrievers all four days for some enjoyable laid back woody flying. Rooms in Muncie for AMA members at the Fairfield Inn are $55.00 a night. This could be the last Wood Crafters event. WC 05 participants were mailed entry forms for WC 06 with a deadline for entry of Jan 5. I'm not totally sure, but I think only two or three people attend my WC events that also attended my very first contest back in November, 1974, Ft Wayne, IN It's a great hobby with years of great memories, right Ed.
