I have an edge and use a steel wing rod as mentioned by Marc Gellart. 
I think it adds about 10 oz.  To set up, I put the plane on my 
balance stand found the cg with normal flying, marked it, put in the 
steel rod, (it will move the cg forward) add weight to tail via a 
small lead plate, trim the lead as needed.  When finished keep the 
rod and weight together.  Ballast with the steel wing rod, tape the 
lead to the tail (base of the tail post for me) and fly.

I think my steel rod came from Slegers or  Don Richmond.

Simple, works fine.
