I've heard that but I don't see it. I flew a flying wing in TD
Doubtful you'll never see one for either of these
tasks. You can't set them up to launch effectively.

sailplanes for F3J or F3B.
The comments that I've been told regarding tailless wings for thermal flying
is that the performance is reasonably good. The Tailless performance is
quite doable and is being perfected.
However,
I don't know, I launch mine from a winch.
I use my xc winch which has 2500' of line
and get good high launches.
