It's quite simple. Weight divided by area. (Number of ounces divided by number of square feet.) Let's say you have 325 sq in of wing area and your plane weights 28 oz. There is 144 sq inches in a square foot, so that means you have 2.257 sq ft of area. (325/144). Now divide 28 oz by 2.257 and you
