If you are talking about geodewdt, Voyage Linux already includes it in its
2.6.23 kernel. The deb kernel source and images could be found in
http://www.voyage.hk/dists/0.5/linux/

The ethernet ports on the net5501 are Auto MDI
I should correct my earlier mail, the switch was a 2940 I wrote 2640.
It was not auto-neg or MDI/MDIX, because we tried every possible
combination. Replaced the 2940 this morning with a 2960 and problem solved.
