Hi,

I now tried for several days to do a clean install of Ubuntu 11.04 Natty, but I'm stuck during the very beginning of the installation process.

I got a dhcp-server and tftpd-hpa server up and running.

I'm connected to the serial console with a serial-to-usb adapter using "minicom". At the start of the box I press "Ctrl-P" and then on the prompt I type "boot f0". The box got a correct IP-address. Then a lot of text is outputted but only on one line (meaning, each word is overwritten by the next one. Then, for a short moment I see the output "PXELINUX 4.02". After this on the lower left corner a lot of symbols are printed and the following output is generated:

<output>
                l
                x     Installer boot menu     x
                t
                x
                x
|              x
+              x
-               x
|              x
|              x
|              x
|              x

                m
     Press ENTER to boot or TAB to edit a menu entry
</output>

But then nothing happens, I can press whatever key, no change in the display :-(

I have edited tftpboot/ubuntu-installer/i386/pxelinux.cfg/default to have in the first line "SERIAL 0 19200" and also added to tftpboot/ubuntu-install/i396/boot-screens/txt.cfg "console=ttyS0,19200n8" to the append-line.

Can any give me some hints/tips/tricks, what I can/need to do, to get the installation working?

Thanks a lot in advance
