Hey Tom,
I've also deployed a number Supermicro boxes during a few month span
when the net6501 was backordered using the "SuperServer 5015A-EHF-D525"
This worked as a good replacement since it has:
- an internal USB socket
Do you have a rack mount case that you like?
I have been a Soekris customer for 12 years and am just now shopping for
a replacement for my rack mounted net6501s. The APU2 looks great but I
will need to find a good 19" rack mount case for it as well.
Thanks for any info you have

I have recently installed 3 new systems (1 a soekris
replacement) and 2 completely new installations. These
are not rack-mounted, but they are fanless.
The 1st was a PCEngines apu2c4, the replacement. The 2nd
2 were qotom-q310g4. units.
The network ports on the Qotom units are not enumerated
I have replaced my failing 6501 with PC Engine APU2. Very happy.
Funny how the rack mounting kits cost a lot, relative to the price of the
APU its self.

Well, at least they've made it clear. Now I can finally give up hope on
a new product. And I can also give up hope for some official
contribution to the mailing list regarding the net6501 proble
It was not unexpected.

Even more telling, if you look at the Soekris Europe web page they are
