Whats an efficient workflow for importing .IGS?

I haven't found a decent way of getting .IGS files into softimage without having to rebuild parts of the mesh. I have tried 3ds max and everything always imports flawlessly in that software, I guess this . I have tried exporting .FBX .OBJ. I can never get into softimage without issues. -Ryan
