Indeed, Athanasios has done some impressive work in bridging the gap
between the si-community and Maxon,
especially considering he is not being paid by Maxon...

I've watched Thanassis' tutorials, and I have to say they are excellent.
They helped me quite a lot. The Cineversity stuff really helped, too, and
it is free for 75% of it.
And I don't just like Thanassis' s tutorials because I am Greek (and so is
he, if you hadn't noticed his name)...

This applies to everybody.
If you need to ask workflow questions, I could either point you to the right
direction or make a tutorial for you.
On my vimeo page I did some small tutorials, and I wouldn't mind doing a few
more if needed.

versions. It's not always clear cut, as it may be related to other parts of
your OS.
The unfortunate fact is that Maxon themselves can't do anything abou
i did submit a crash report, i got feedback, and i did what they
said...adjusted graphics drivers... still didn't fix it.

Dear Steven,
C4D is by FAR the most stable program in the industry. No joke.
It ONLY crashes because of 3rd party related issues (plugins, drivers and OS)
and graphics drivers is the most common reason.
I'm not overselling C4D's stability here. If it "crashed all the time" it's
probably somethin

said it was driver related but even when i upgraded the driver it didn't
get any better. its a quadro mobile card so it should be supported.

would definitely be my software of choice, if it wasn't so much motion
graphics instead of VFX.
it is really stable and simple to use, but integrations with After instead
of Nuke and lack of big plugins like Arnold and Fabric really keep me off...

Hi there,
just in case you wanted to know, there's a new landing page for softimage users
on the Maxon website.
It has several useful links, including links to download the Trial version, a
free Digital Tutors Softimage to C4D series, and links to free Cineversity
videos.
