EU to Absorb Montenegro
Thursday, September 21, 2006 <http://www.thetrumpet.com/images/3px.gif> Another chunk of old Yugoslavia is falling to the European Union. On September 11, Montenegros Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic claimed victory in the countrys first general election since gaining formal independence following a referendum in May. Djukanovics pro-independence and pro-EU coalition won an absolute victory <http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060913/ap_on_re_eu/montenegro_elections_2> , securing 41 out of the nations 81 parliamentary seats. Djukanovic, who campaigned on a platform of joining the EU, now has a clear path to pursue EU membership for Montenegro. Montenegro has repeatedly stated that being tied to Serbia has hindered its EU entrance process. Indeed, the European Union is visibly more eager <http://ec.europa.eu/enlargement/montenegro/eu_serbia_and_montenegro_relatio ns_en.htm> to adopt the state into the EU confederation now that Montenegro has declared its independence. <http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/5043462.stm> Following Montenegros successful referendum, EU expansion commissioner Olli Rehn said <http://www.iht.com/articles/2006/05/29/news/balkans.php> that he hoped to speed up efforts to bring the newly independent Montenegro into the bloc. Other former Yugoslavian breakaway provinces of Croatia and Macedonia are also in the process of being absorbed into the EU. Intelligence agency Stratfor agrees that Montenegro will soon be absorbed into the EU. The European Union both crafted Montenegros current state and played a key role in both Yugoslavias breakup and Montenegros recent independence referendum (September 11). The Trumpet has often pointed to the fact that it was actually Germany who orchestrated the breakup of Yugoslavia <http://www.thetrumpet.com/index.php?page=article&id=621> . In 1991, Germany, quickly followed by the Vatican, was the first nation to officially recognize the Yugoslavian breakaway provinces of Slovenia and Croatia, even though the rest of Europe and America were openly opposed to Germanys action <http://www.thetrumpet.com/index.php?page=article&id=466> . Against world opinion, Germany held fast to its political commitments to its World War ii allies of Slovenia and Croatiaand today we see why. Through the purposeful destabilization of the Balkans, Germany was able to create a crisis, for which it then was able to provide a solution. In this case, the solution was the destruction of the Serbian-led Yugoslavia (one of Germanys World War ii enemies) and the future annexation of former Yugoslavian provinces into a German-dominated European Union. 2007 marks the start of Germanys EU presidency, so dont be surprised to see an expedited integration process for certain former Yugoslavian provinces. Continue to watch the Balkans. These events are a major sign of how close Germany is to achieving its previously interrupted World War ii goals. <http://www.thetrumpet.com/images/blip.gif> Also on theTrumpet.com: Germany <http://www.thetrumpet.com/index.php?page=article&id=1805> Wins Out in Kosovo End Game EU to Absorb Montenegro <http://www.thetrumpet.com/index.php?page=article&id=2573> http://www.thetrumpet.com/index.php?page=article&id=2573 [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] =============== Group Moderator: [EMAIL PROTECTED] page at http://magazine.sorabia.net for more informations about current situation in Serbia http://www.sorabia.net Slusajte GLAS SORABIJE nas talk internet-radio (Serbian Only) http://radio.sorabia.net Yahoo!
