We have been successfully using OEL with spacewalk for a while now.
It's a bit tricky, but it works. Below is how we accomplished this.
(I'll put this in the spacewalk wiki soon)

However I think safeguards could be put into place to protect us against our
own demise.
Much like "rm" does if "rm -rf /" is run.
