Sorry if my questions weren't clear, because it wasn't in the list earlier
today or previously, that I can find.
Is it intended that Spacewalk 2.10 will be able to run on EL8? Not whether it
will support EL8 clients. I am very aware of the 2.9 challenges supporting EL8
clients. Mine works
Check previous threads from this morning and last week. The devs have
very limited time to work on Spacewalk since Red Hat no longer uses
Spacewalk as upstream for Satellite. :(
If you want to manage EL8 clients, you should install nightly (on EL7)
since it has various bug fixes. Spacewalk
Two questions regarding 2.10…
First, is it intended to deploy on EL8? I am waiting in hopes it will, so my
deployment can live as long as possible.
Second, any ideas on a release date? I realize this is a moving target, but
even an estimate would help me determine if I can wait.
2.9 is the latest stable release.
2.10 is the "Nightly" developers' snapshot (

Hello All
On the GitHub page, I see that v2.9 is the latest version of spacewalk,
But a recent post, someone had a problem with v2.10
So my question is .
What is the latest version of Spacewalk? 2.9?, 2.10?, something else? and
where do I get it?

Hello Paul,
depends on what you mean by "issues". You can maintain CentOS 8 clients
(provisioning, configuration management). When it comes to package management,
modules are not fully supported so you will not be able to properly manage
packages.
Best wishes,

Good Day Michael,
Thanks for the info
We are starting our endeavors towards RHEL 8
With that said...
Is there any issues with Spacewalk 2.9 ( running on RHEL 7 ) supporting RHEL 8
clients

Hello Kent
We too have encountered several rounds of difficulties with Centos 8 since 8.1
was released, despite not having specifically used modules on any of the target
systems.
Summary:
8.0 repo fails with various module related issues (since master repo updated
this to link to 8.1/).
