Generally speaking, each linux distro has its syslog's logs file name
convention .
For example, redhat

it uses syslog with facility

it uses syslog with facility LOG_MAIL
see: man 3 syslog
if you want to have logs in separate file, you could change it by hand
in log.c and recompile
