Of course, this was it. I had "idle 600" in /etc/ppp/options.
How come? I installed SuSE 7.3 new and forgot to modify it.

Hi all,
I would like to monitor my connection, to do it I've installed a
script(http://www.windischmann.de/) in /etc/ppp/ip-down but it seems it has
been ignored.
So I wonder if this script (ip-down) is called when the daily deconnection
occurs ?
