I guess the topic of dodgy USB chipsets should be added to the FAQ. Do
we think all the dropout problems are a result of USB wierdness?
Assuming things work fine under Windows maybe we should take our
findings to the USB developers list?

Hi,
I'm investigating the lock out I have on my board with a USB Controller: Intel Corp.
82371SB PIIX3 USB [Natoma/Triton II] (rev 1).
I have found that pppoa2 (I don't tried with pppoa3 for now) from
speedtouch-CVS_03_03_2002 package block from time to time a this line in pppoa2.c :
n = pus
i'm currently running with pppoa3. can anyone point out pros/cons of either
version?
(i'm trying to track down source of instability on my system).

I followed the directions on the howto or install notes, but I keep on
getting a make error. I came across a thread about a year ago that had a
similar problem that said to ignore compiling errors and remove pppoa3
from the 'ST_COMPILE=modem_run pppoa2 pppoa3' after running ./configure.
