Chances are DNS isn't set right. Can you ping IP addresses (e.g. your
peer ppp address and then your ISP's DNS servers).

It is out of topic here but you should edit your /etc/resolv.conf and
fill it this way :
(IF the ip address of the DNS of your ISP is xxx.yyy.zzz ,)
nameserver xxx.yyy.zzz
that's all . then restart your browser and enjoy.
