Nope...still no joy from my part. I followed your instructions, ran "pppd
call adsl" and checked the line with ifconfig...it gave some output pretty
much like yours except there were no IP addresses, obviously not making the
connection.
I have two steady green lights on the modem, so

Try running:
# modem_run -m -f /path/to/mgmt.o
instead of:
# modem_run -m -f /usr/src/alcaudsl.sys
I followed the HOW-TO and have managed to get my modem recognised and the
lights are on. Unfortunately, I still haven't managed to dial an account!.
