Hi Gang,

I tried since 2 daysto connect my linux with :

Linux = RH9.0 fresh install
ISP = club-internet france (pppoA ? )
Modem = green Speedtouch USB

First method = not OK ===>

Use just "adsl-setup" and "adsl-start".
In /var/log/message :

Sep 3 02:58:30 localhost kernel: PPP generic driver version 2.4.2

Second method = not OK ===>

I tried exactly the method describe here :

http://cvs.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/*checkout*/speedtouch/speedtouch/doc-linux/howto/SpeedTouch-HOWTO-fr.html?rev=1.3

With speedtouch-1.1-1.i586.rpm and alcaudsl.sys ||
speedtouch-1.1-1.i586.rpm and mgmt.o , it's the same problem.

|# modem_run -m -f /le_bon_chemin/vers/mgmt.o
or
# modem_run -m -f /le_bon_chemin/vers/alcaudsl.sys

Ihave several error messages in "message" :

Sep  3 21:28:38 localhost modem_run[26577]: modem_run version 1.1rc1
started by root uid 0
Sep  3 21:28:44 localhost kernel: usb_control/bulk_msg: timeout
Sep 3 21:28:44 localhost kernel: usbdevfs: USBDEVFS_BULK failed dev 2
ep 0x85 len 512 ret -110
Sep  3 21:28:46 localhost kernel: usb_control/bulk_msg: timeout
Sep  3 21:28:46 localhost modem_run[26577]: BLOCK1
Sep 3 21:28:46 localhost kernel: usbdevfs: USBDEVFS_BULK failed dev 2
ep 0x5 len 991 ret -110
Sep  3 21:28:48 localhost kernel: usb_control/bulk_msg: timeout
Sep 3 21:28:48 localhost kernel: usbdevfs: USBDEVFS_BULK failed dev 2

Sep  3 21:28:50 localhost kernel: usb_control/bulk_msg: timeout

ep 0x5 len 991 ret -110
Sep  3 21:28:52 localhost kernel: usb_control/bulk_msg: timeout
.......
I know that the option "-s" of modem_run should solved the above problem.
But I don't know how solved the following error :
.......
Sep  3 21:30:07 localhost pppd[26612]: pppd 2.4.1 started by root, uid 0
Sep  3 21:30:07 localhost /etc/hotplug/net.agent: assuming ppp0 is
already up
Sep  3 21:30:07 localhost pppd[26612]: Using interface ppp0
Sep  3 21:30:07 localhost pppd[26612]: Connect: ppp0 <--> /dev/pts/2
Sep  3 21:30:07 localhost pppd[26612]: Modem hangup
Sep  3 21:30:07 localhost pppd[26612]: Connection terminated.
Sep  3 21:30:07 localhost /etc/hotplug/net.agent: assuming ppp0 is
already up
Sep  3 21:30:07 localhost pppd[26612]: Using interface ppp0
Sep  3 21:30:07 localhost pppd[26612]: Connect: ppp0 <--> /dev/pts/2
Sep  3 21:30:07 localhost pppd[26612]: ioctl(PPPIOCSASYNCMAP):

Sep  3 21:30:07 localhost pppd[26612]: tcflush failed: Input/output error
Sep 3 21:30:07 localhost /etc/hotplug/net.agent: NET unregister event
not supported
Sep  3 21:30:07 localhost pppd[26612]: Exit.

|Third method = not OK ===>

I tried exactly the method describe here :

        http://www.webconexion.net/speedtouch/index.php

Fourth method = not OK ===>

I tried exactly the method describe here :

       http://s1x.homelinux.net/downloads/speedtouch-installer/

Now, I don't know what and where make.
Please someone to give me a step by step for that my connexion works, it
will be very appreciated.

Cheers,
