Hi,
is it actually possible to connect the spice USB redirection to an USB3.0
controller instead of the ICH9 USB2.0?
Not sure, but I would assume less CPU usage?
Thanks, Klaus

I tried ICH9 and ICH6, but both devices have this clicking thing.
Only AC97 worked.

Hi,
I just played around with some spice options as I have sound problems with a
Windows 7 guest.
It's a bit choppy and I hear a regular click (sort of) every 1-2 seconds.
Video performance is ok although I can't watch Full-HD videos smoothly, but the
max size of the video is ok.
So I tested
On their web site they say:
The qxl.sys driver must be installed from the drivers folder using pnputil -i
-a qxl.inf from a cmd terminal.
So I assume there is a qxl spice display driver available...

I saw here https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/SPICE#Windows_8_64-bit that RH has

I was wondering if they will release that to the public...

Hi,
I just had a look at the spice repositories and I saw that the last spice
(server) release was done 10 month ago and a lot of changes were done since
then.
Is there any plan to release a new version of spice and spice-protocol?
Thanks, Klaus
___
Hi,
I just tried to build spice from source.
spice and spice-protocol worked without problem.
But for spice-gtk I always get this error when running autoconf.sh (or actually
autoreconf -v --force --install):
...
automake: warnings are treated as errors
common/Makefile.am:4: warning: source file
As a workaround I disabled html doc generation in ./configure
After that it worked till the end...

the patch worked, thanks for that.
Does that mean from 0.24 it won't work on older distro's?
Ubuntu 12.04 uses glibc 2.15.

Hi,
I tried to make spice-gtk 0.24 on Ubuntu 12.04 and got this error:

Yes it's the latest qxl-Driver.

Does maybe an older version (e.g. 0.12.0) of spice help?
I'm also using the latest released packages and experience a lot of crashes.
Sometimes when connecting, sometimes during a running session.

Hi Christophe,
just found a small issue...
When upgrading from spice-guest-tools-0.1 without uninstalling them first I got
an error that the vdagent can't be copied.
The vdagent service was still running.
Maybe you could add stopping the service at the beginning of the installation
procedure.
Hi,
I was wondering if it's possible to auto connect already plugged-in USB devices
when virt-viewer starts?
We're using an Ubuntu-client with virt-viewer and SPICE and this client has
permanently a card reader plugged in.
Thanks,
