I pulled my engine and transmission out of my car a few weeks ago to paint
the frame and firewall. Last weekend I put them back in and now there is a
squeaking sound coming from the transmission. It sounds like a piece of
rubber or plastic is rubbing on the driveshaft. Its related to vehicle

I'm not sure if these are gold plated or made of unobtanium, but I've got
two Spits (66 Mk II and the 68 Mk III) along with a spare chassis and none
of them have handbrake handle assemblies. Haven't been lucky enough to
find any Spits in the local graveyards so I'm stumped in finding an

Can anyone on the list tell me the dimensions of the eye on the sway bar

I'm trying to source bushings for my TVR and I think the knuckles are
identical.
I just need inside diameter of the eye with no bushing and the length of
the eye.

He is very interested in selling all the cars intact (he doesn't have enough

Hi listers,
I just picked up a 1970 GT6+ project with the column mounted ignition and was
hoping someone might tell me if the wiring codes are the same as those found
in MkIV or 1500 Spitfires. I don't have a GT6 manual or wiring diagram yet
and I'm anxious to get the ignition wired so I can see

Hello all,
I am doing a little work on my cars rear suspension and have noticed that
the rear trunions are very stiff. How freely should they pivot? I can move
them, but not freely - takes a good bit of effort. The originals from my

If you have the standard stromberg carb it has a bimetallic heat sensitive flap that
rattles a lot at the front of the air filter box. Originally it looks like it had a
thin rubber foam seal piece. Just replacing that may cure it as without the rubber the
metal flap hits the metal housing. Bugg
Bummer you spent $$$ on a new distributor for nothing...
To check the drive gear endfloat, simply remove the distributor
and stick your finger down the hole and try to turn the gear.
You should be able to turn it at least a little bit, until

Well a new distributor didn't cure the rattle although

an improvement in performance. I'm thinking that I may
have made a mistake in setting the endfloat when measuring
