Hello all,
I am looking for some reasoned advice. I need to rebuild one of my Spitfire
engines. I have a 69 1296 or a 74 1500. The 1296 started making nasty
noises with no loss of oil pressure, my mechanic thinks it is a bad little
end bearing. It has been rebuilt at least once in the past. Th
So how do I get one of the correct plaques? I just checked my 80 Spit and
it has one of the older (through '73) dates. Does anone make a replacement?

Welded was perhaps a bad choice of words in the shops case. I work on autos
for a living and I have seen cases where you would think they had been. This
is much more prevalent on aluminum head cars (like the Ka) than it is on cast
