It's actually not a brace. It's designed to catch on a bracket on the firewall in case of a head on accident to prevent the bonnet from driving backwards into the passenger compartment. Without the bracket, you really have no reason to keep the brace. I don't know what size battery Triumph origi

James, Had a similar experience late last summer. Driving on a city street, 35 mph, heard a clunk and the car got swervy. Turned out to be a broken trunnion bolt on the RR. It also produced even more camber than usual on the rear wheels. Just this afternoon, I finally got new brake line installed

clutch replacement update

Well I took the whole thing apart and YES I did forget to replace the bolts on the rear engine plate (it's amazing what them things do! ) Shifts smooth as silk both into first and reverse. Thanks to all who tried to help me with the problems that I described in my earlier post. Live and learn!!
