As a matter of fact, I was blowing air with a ten foot hose. That dried up
the pesky residual gasoline and dispersed some of that explosive vapor. If
that is bad, I don't recommend it.
When I grind or sand on the tank, some vinegar burps up and is bubbling the
paint. I can remove the paint with my

Does anyone have the original inner window seals (the fuzzy ones) still

wondering why the last approximately inch on each end is cut away. I

Hi everyone,
I just bought an old road racing spitfire and it came with an extra
intake manifold which looks at first glance to be a 1 1/4 or 1 1/2
1300/1500 intake but at closer inspection there are a number of
differences and I'm not sure what it's for and thought maybe one of you

Yes James you 'can' tweak them. I've got a 1500
4 cyl tach that is now all set up for my GT6's 6 cyl
engine and is accurate across the whole scale.
A simple trim pot (~50K ohms) boot strapped across
pins 4 to 8 of the integrated ckt on the board inside your
tach is all that's needed (and a known
Ok... I have a Smiths electronic tacho from my old 1500... and I have a
mechanical tacho from my Mk3 - which I cant use because Im using a Lucas

Electronic insides + Mechanical dial = Happy :o)
Anyone know if you can adjust the electronic tacho so that the RPM range
matches the Mk3 di
Basically you can sum it up like this; if you want a sports car - you
want a Spit - if you want a "Grand Tourer" get a GT6...
I've driven all 3; a GT6, a Spitfire and a Gitfire/Spit6... the Spit
does indeed handle much better... I still want a GT6 - but its that
gorgeous roof line that I want -
Gary,
Have you considered simply modifying the engine you've got in order to get more power?

Consider too how much handling you're willing to give up for the six cylinder.

I hope it was the tank that was draining for several days, not your finger!!
