Well...i fixed the float bowls. And for those of you who were
concerned...my toilet is working just fine too! :-) Nowi got the float
bowls to stop leaking gasoline, but now it is just leaking out the front of
the carbs. ?? Why? Is the needle sticking somewhere? I can't seem to
figure thi

That's a nice lookin DS. Love the appropriate white color.
While my lust may be after British cars, the unusual shaping and luxury of
the DS21 has always caught my eye. Is it a manual transmission, with the

If you had old gas in it the valve assembly
(as well as your whole fuel line supply system)
has varnish in it making things stick. Gasoline these

Well...i finally started up the Spitfire again after it's winter hibernation.
It started ok but idled a bit rough becuase i still need to fine tune the

The hole is closer to the pump and there is a bearing forward of that.
But if the seal is leaking, the pump is shot anyway so I can't see any
reason that the bearing needs to be protected at that point. I think

If the gasket is still good, coat it with grease before you reinstall it.
That way the next time you need to remove it, it < should > be OK to use
again.
YMMV

This 'weep' hole is also known as a vent. If the internal seals of the
water pump go out, you'll end up with a lot of water coming out of that
whole in a hurry. Most water pumps have them typically on the bottom.
Some pumps use a grease fitting here, but those are few and far between
for cars to
