Of note: not all replacements are created equal; some require an

Good luck!

Hey Dave,
To repeat what everyone has said - do what works best for you... The
only word of caution I would give you is: If you plan on doing
something a little different seat wise (i.e. Miata seats as many of us
have) then matching black is a little easier than matching the tan.
Other than that
Although I haven't shipped overseas, living in Canada and buying from the
states, I always ask that things be shipped USPS rather than UPS. Believe it
or not the reason is simple, USPS drops it at the post office and I pay the tax
on the declared value of the item, vs. UPS charges a brokerage c
Hmmm My '76 had a spoiler - it was lost in an unfortunate incident
with a raccoon at high speed (ok I was lucky I only lost the spoiler).
That said, I a) think the car looks better without it and b) don't see
any different in cooling or handling for the car. But as we all know,

Hi Matthew,
If I remember correctly, the '76+ all used an OPUS electronic ignition.
The plug you described mates with a ?female? adaptor that comes from the
OPUS system mounted under the distributor cap - that is if you are still
using the OPUS. In my case I switched over to the Petronix. To do
if I can use them in the TR6.

I tend to agree with Richard, it sounds like a DPO issue. As for things
to be aware of post '76 is the OPUS electronic ignition. If and when
you start having odd ignition problems, my experience is to start here.
You can either change it back to points, or replace it with something
like the Petro

After reading through various peoples thoughts... I think I might try
the heavy plastic that Ken recommended simply because it gives me a nice
cheap way to determine if there is any improvement before I go throwing
money at it...
thanks again everyone!

b) If my logic is sound, does anyone have any form of drawings for these

I too have made my own panels, however mine are secured slightly differently than the
originals - actually I like the finish a little better.
As Paul indicated there are three clearance holes around the door pull that if not
there create a bump in the panel. However, my panels only have the

I found one of the easiest things to work with is contact cement for any
contouring of the interior vinyl in the car. Following the directions,
it takes about 10 min for it to setup on each side (don't rush this),
but after that you have about 1 hour to mate the two pieces. The only

Ed,
As Richard mentioned, the Miata seats option has been tried by more than
a few - Paul Tegler has a great site on how to install them.
Personally, I really like them because they not only give you speakers
for the car, but more importantly if you are using the car as a somewhat
regular vehicle
Paul,
I too have done a similar repair to my dash-top, however I found that a
latex based caulking compound worked very nicely to fill the cracks.
Once it has dried it can be shaped with a razor blade and is very
resilient to finger dents! Here I am 2 years later and it still looks
as good as the
l 4 turn signals don't work!
All I can offer here is that the turn signal relay (at least in my
"modified by PO" '76 spit) is located just above the radio mount.
Currently I am using a $5 2 wire relay from Canadian Tire and it has
been working quite nicely for about 2 years now.

Although I don't have the plans, I can tell you what worked really well
for me when I re-did my '76 Spit dash in cherry wood.
To start, I bought a top guided router bit (bearing on the top of equal
