I made a shield for the rubber boot by cutting a notch in a piece
of sheet metal. It keeps the boot from getting destroyed by the
pickle fork if the tie rod end is still in good condition. It will
deform the heck out of the sheet metal so just bash it flat again
after you use it.

The front steering rack is held in place by a pair of U bolts with plates
and nuts on the bottom side of the frame mounts.
