Didn't some of the UK-spec Spits have a electrical gizmo box that would dim the turn signals and brake lights when the headlights were on? Doug Braun '72 Spit Quoting Gene Eighmy <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>: > Richard, > > Correct. I missed both the UK and Mk IV part of the original email. US > Spec

Richard, Correct. I missed both the UK and Mk IV part of the original email. US Spec 1500 shared a flasher unit. The Hazard switch controls how the flasher is powered and makes troubleshooting a bit tricky and the turn signal unreliable. You Brits got a lot better Spitfire than we did in the U

"...There is only one Flasher unit and it is used for both turn signal and hazard lights..." Possibly on your car, but definitely not on mine (1978 UK-spec 1500). There are different electrical layouts not just for different models, but sometimes there are changes within a particular model, and c

That's probably it. Mine was there (or the RHD equivalent), but had stopped working, so my DPO had replaced it and the replacement was just hanging about dangling on the end of the wires stuffed up behind the dash. It's possible, however, that what you've found is the hazard light flasher unit.

If this is down next to the choke (where mine is on a '76) then that's it. Should be a metal bracket that the unit simply pushes into. Two leads sounds correct (light-green/slate & light-green/brown at least that's the wiring colours on the later cars according to the diagrams). Alan On Thu, 5 A

I'm trying to diagnose why my turning signals aren't working and I'm trying to find the turning signal flasher unit. I have a LH drive 1972 Spit Mark IV. It looks like when I pull back the LH fascia (speedo/tach side) that the unit is to the right of the tach (looking at it) and down and is hooked
