I'd be inclined to agree with Kurt. I don't think a simple whip like you
see on VHF would be very efficient on 4 MHz with these low-powered
transmitters. These beacons actually get out pretty well, and I'd

My understanding is that MX refers to a single letter beacon cluster, no
matter where it is. These particular beacons send long dashes, I and
W.

That sounds like it was a fish net beacon.
I've seen mention of them on the web before. They're a watertight beacon
that transmits on an antenna wire that floats along with the top of a
drift net. These are used

Some Adrift weather Bouies opperated by NOAA'S NDBC (National Data Bouie
Center) in cooperation with NOAA'S National Weather Service. Do have beacons
that opperate near the Shortwave Bands near NOAA All-Hazards

There is a beep that is almost constant on 6940 KHz rite now it started at
00:57 UTC, no voice anouncments are made. It then wend silent until 01:00:56
