Hearing S06 through University Twente SDR. barely audible over noise levels and
strobing noises. Still new at this so no recording or valuable info from this

I bet the computers used by the operators are stand alone pc's that have no
network connection.
I think all they do is enter the message to be sent, select voice, speed and
done.

Maybe they are emulating software by using Wine under linux? Wine is closer
to XP than 7 or 8.1 is it not?
(Wasn't in they news they had to migrate to linux?)

I too would be interested in the tools, and techniques that dedicated monitors
of numbers transmissions utilize. I hear a lot on the list about automated
monitoring, but have no practical idea how it is done.
