The goal is to make it not look like a sprinkler system. The one issue may come across is if the pipe is painted red. People may automatically look at that as active sprinkler. You may want to consider doing something (paint, stripe, etc) to make it contrast the actual sprinkler pipe.

I have a customer that is being asked to cut and cap an existing system and leave it in place. I seem to recall a section of the fire or building code that does not permit you to leave abandoned life safety equipment in place. They are being asked to remove the sprinklers but leave all of the
