I second Kyan's suggestion of a pseudo-comment hinting syntax:
... that the planner hint is not interleaved inside normal SQL
syntax. Instead I propose a special comment-like syntax instead, as
Oracle's /*+ */ or --+, but replacing + with another symbol, e.g. :
