I have not tried another player, can try that. I did try another
computer running LMS (a MacBook Pro ) and wasn't able to reproduce the
issue, so seems like it's something relating to this Win 10 PC running

I've been running LMS on windows 10 for a long time.
I have one active plugin, Spotty, which I use to play Spotify on my
Classic Squeezebox, which is connected to the LMS running on win 10.
Have had this same setup for a long time and been using Spotty for about
