There was chaos between these two aforementioned installations, so I
installed from scratch.
It's not completely set up yet, but what I can say now is:
+ It feels much much slower now: The tab settings/plugin now takes ages
(~25s) to load.
+ My music is no longer found.

For completeness, What model Pi are you using and are you using a DAC or
just the Pi audio output ? Is the audio format of all the files still
same as CD - 44.1kHz , 16bits 2 channel ?
Also for completeness ; "alsa" is Linux's underlying audio subsystem -
there are lots of tweaks to optimise

That would be my third (Q)LMS installation. After I installed the second
(that's the first QLMS beta 1.09something), all my settings were still
there. Were they copied when I installed this or do they share the same
settings?

OK, I did another search for a slim audio splitter and this time I found
this: mp3splt-gtk 0.9
which workd pretty easy.
So now the file is split up into 28 equal chunks and that should solve
the problem.
I would still like to understand what caused the problem though.
Thanks again for the
Interestingly I have got another one that is 1.4GB and 320kbps and there
at least I can fast foward to another time.
Did you check server.log to see what is causing the issue?

In mine the .cue file splits, for example, a 3 hour show into the
individual tracks and spoken links.
So the longest segment is only a few minutes long.
So - another experiment that you could do is make a .cue file that sets
5 minute segments rather than 1 hour or so - just to see if it changes
Hi Paul, Michael,
converting to 192kbps still does not change it.
Interestingly I have got another one that is 1.4GB and 320kbps and there

I actually wanted to split it but the tool I have (audacity) cannot
handle files of that siz :(
Cheers,
You could try reencoding one of the files with a lower bit rate to see
if it makes a difference ... and for an audiobook it might not sound
very different anyway.
Or split it into tracks?

That looks fine to me.
I have lots of 2-5 hour shows that are encoded as 128k CBR MP3 and they
work fine.
You could try reencoding one of the files with a lower bit rate to see
if it makes a difference ... and for an audiobook it might not sound
very different anyway.

Aha ... I think it might be related to UPnP Bridge.
Some devices (e.g. TV) are switched off ... UPnP Bridge removes them
from the set of devices when they are unreachable ... and I think that
would also explain the odd MAC addresses (UPnP Bridge faking them).

I have traced it to Domoticz - polling every 30 seconds.
Now to work out why it thinks I have devices that do not exist.

Hi Paul,
thanks for the fast reply.
I checked and the file is CBR 320kbps encoded with ffmpeg.
Running LMS 7.9.1 too.
Does that look ok or prone for problems?
Thanks,
Matthias

A while ago (perhaps around a year) I had the noise issue when using
.cue to break up long MP3 files.
However, the problem went away, without me noticing when ... which I put
down to updating LMS.
Right now the LMS I am running is 7.9.1 - 1522157629 @ Fri Mar 30

Hi guys,
I have got a little problem trying to play a very large audiobook that
unluckily came as one big file.
We are looking at Stephen King's "Sleeping Beauties" and this is ~3.5GB
in size.
So in order to more easily jump around in the book I created a .CUE file
and chopped it into chunks of
I see quite a lot (10s per hour 24*7) of log entries like this - but
with no discernible problems on the various players.

If your lms server has some power - there is a 'extgui4lms plugin'
(https://www.nexus0.net/pub/sw/extgui4lms/) from roland0 that delivers a
webgui.
Search for it - if your ubuntu system has some power - otherwise that
webgui from roland is a little bit very slow.
Hi!
For listening my music I've got LMS 7.9.2 on a home server (with
Ubuntu), Squeezelite-R2 on a Gentoo minipc.
To access and play some music I use the browser and the classic LMS
web-interface on a Windows 10 pc.
I don't like the classic LMS interface: on my winpc I like much more

I finally found the root cause for this issue:
On mysqueezebox.com I still had the "Orange Liveradio" plugin in the

This application no longer exists for quite a while, and was not really
installed on the squeezboxes, but for some
